Beer Stew

Ingredients:
2.5	pounds	stew meat, trimmed and cut into bite-size chunks
1-4	cloves	garlic, chopped
1	bay	leaf
l	can	(12 oz) dark beer
1	pkg.	Knorr's oxtail soup mix
1	batch	fresh mushrooms and all kinds of veggies
salt	to	taste

Throw this all in the crockpot and cook on high for about 4 hours, then on low for another 4 hours. Stir occasionally.

I've used all the usual stew veggies but also turnips, zucchini, green peas, whatever appeals...
